Okay, I'm going to try my hand at a blog contest. There will be a small but lovely prize for the winner so I need all of you who play to identify yourself and how I can get the prize to you. Okay?! Okay.

The contest rules:

Using the descriptions of 10 photos posted in my September 27, 2009, entry entitled "Things I saw in La-La Land", list the photos from 1 to 10 in chronological order of how I saw them once I landed at LAX. #1 being the first thing of interest that I saw #10 being the last. You get the drift.

The winner will be the person who gets the most correct. Your list must be posted as a comment to this link no later than 0900, Saturday October 3rd. Winner will be notified via post on JAKL immediately following deadline. In case of a tie, there will be a sudden-death type tie breaker (prepare yourself now).

I think our friend, Traci, over at Mischief & Mayhem had her first fresh garden tomato over a week or two ago (she's in Seattle). I was so jealous but now it seems to be our turn. FINALLY!! Our big, fat green tomatoes are now turning into big, fat RED TOMATOES!! YAY! I am so excited because I am so not a very patient person. I want instant gratification, I want it now and I usually want it covered in chocolate! But the anticipation for these delicious, red bulbs of goodness made the wait all worthwhile. (hey, isn't there a song about that?)

J made us over sized BLTs for dinner tonight and cut huge slabs of this tomato on the left.

The flavor was just divine!!

We have a bucketful of fresh basil so tomorrow I will make caprese salad for dinner and this weekend I will make fresh red sauce for spaghetti! Yum! We will have tomatoes coming our our ears! We also have groves of cherry tomato plants that we are having a hard time keeping up with harvesting! Most likely we will make salsa like we did last fall. We made so much that we still have a few jars left!

Ahhhh, the tomato. . .the gift that keeps on giving!

Things that make you say "WTF?" #2

Ummm. . .yeah, okay. Is that *all* your stuff? I mean I don't see the kitchen sink in there. And I'm sure the tarp really kept things dry today.

I understand and can sympathize with someone moving or having to live in their car, but there was barely a space for a driver and the stuff drooping off the back? C'mon!! So this lead me to say. . .
